I'm Frances Nellie, a mom of three, photographer, and a lover of all things serene and peaceful.
My journey into photography, has been a beautifully organic one. It all began many moons ago when I found myself captivated by the everyday moments of my family's life. As a mom, I became obsessed with capturing those fleeting, scrunchy newborn days and watching my little ones grow. My love affair with the lens started humbly, sharing these precious moments on Instagram. Soon, something magical happened. Friends began asking if I could work my photographic magic for their children as well. Before I knew it, the web of connections spread, friends of friends got involved, and even families that I'd never met were intrigued by my work. This led me down an exciting path of learning. I upgraded my photography gear, delved into the world of research, devoured photography books, and pursued professional training. With newfound knowledge and a heart full of passion, I took the leap and founded FrancesNelliePhotography.
The past few years have been a whirlwind, to say the least. The pandemic may have thrown us all a curveball, but I chose to adapt. I ventured into the world of content and product content creation, finding fresh ways to express my creativity and connect with my amazing clients. I've had the privilege of working with countless wonderful families and collaborating with some truly gorgeous brands and designers. Some standout moments include seeing my images displayed in John Lewis LDN, hosting a model search that attracted hundreds of eager applicants, and, of course, the pure joy of witnessing my newborn photography grace the walls of clients' homes or being gifted to their families.
My heart beats for those precious early days of life, the newborn phase. There's something absolutely magical about the way those tiny, scrunchy beings capture our hearts and fill our lives with wonder. It's an honour and a joy to document those first moments, those wobbly first steps, and all the sweet, fleeting milestones in between.
My photography style is deeply inspired by Scandinavian design – effortless with elevated essentials and considered choices. There's something incredibly soothing about the simplicity and minimalism that Scandinavian design embodies. It mirrors the way I approach my work, striving to capture moments in their purest form, uncluttered and full of authentic beauty. My goal is to create images that transport you to a place of calm and contentment, just like the laid-back, serene lifestyle I admire.
As we step into 2024, I'm brimming with excitement about the new opportunities and services I hope to bring your way. Ideas I currently have floating round are outdoor family phptpshoots as well as pop-up shoots (particularly Christmas ones).
